Find a tool, replacement part or film supplier

Start with the item you need, not a whole new kit. For a replacement, keep the tool name, model, size and part number together. An item that looks similar is not a confirmed match.

44Tools installation catalog

The catalog separates squeegees and blades, handles, sprayer parts, measuring tools and film-handling equipment. Listings include sizes and item numbers.

Replacing a worn part
Start with the existing model and part number. Save the exact replacement listing.
Adding a tool for a new job
Write down the task, the film and the glass involved. Keep the applicable manufacturer instructions with the item.
Placing the order
Confirm the exact item, stock and delivery date before depending on it for a booked job.

Solar Gard’s distributor list identifies US territories. It lists Tri-Edge Tools for Florida. Confirm the product and account requirements directly; the list does not establish stock or delivery.

The IWFA supplier directory supplies company names and website links. It is a starting point for discovering businesses, not a recommendation by WindowFilm.org.

These are starting points, not supplier rankings. No purchase, account or inquiry is made through WindowFilm.org.

Find training you can actually attend

Browse checked class dates and training programs for locations, published fees, eligibility and direct provider links. Dated classes, availability inquiries and on-demand videos are listed separately.

MadicoU reading
Public film and dealer-business learning articles. Use this for topic research; reading an article is not evidence of hands-on training.

The International Window Film Association’s education and accreditation page describes four knowledge areas: automotive film, safety and security film, solar control, and advanced solar control. Its accreditation applies to individuals, not companies.

Before reserving a place, write down the exact course, who will attend, the eligibility requirement, location, dates, fee, travel costs and what the provider awards on completion. Leave unconfirmed items blank rather than treating a course description as a booking.

Prepare a flat-glass review request

Leave this section with the job information ready for a manufacturer review, not a compatibility verdict.

Solar Gard’s film-to-glass form (PDF), marked April 2023, shows the information it asks for. This is a selected preparation list, not the complete form:

  • Proposed work: film, building age, window count and area.
  • Glass: single or double pane, each pane’s strength and thickness, low-E details and gaps between panes.
  • Surroundings: frame, indoor treatments, outdoor shading and nearby reflective surfaces.
  • History: previous glass or seal failures.

Keep different film or glass constructions separate. Do not guess missing values. Completing the form does not establish compatibility, approval or warranty coverage.

Solar Gard’s contact page accepts technical inquiries. Confirm the current review process with its team before sending project details.

For another brand, use that manufacturer’s own review requirements. This page does not teach glass identification, measurement or installation.

Make a callback easier to assess

Prepare one clear note before discussing a problem with the installer, supplier or manufacturer. Describe what you can observe; keep the cause, coverage decision and proposed remedy open for review.

Copy this into your own job record

  • Job reference and affected window or pane ID:
  • Film product and roll or batch reference, if available:
  • Installation date and date the concern was first noticed:
  • What is visible, from which side, and under what conditions:
  • Wide and close-up photo filenames:
  • Any cleaning, changes or previous work already carried out:
  • Relevant product, care, review and warranty documents:
  • Person handling the review, next action and follow-up date:

A clearer description

Example only: “West office, pane W2. Haze visible from inside in afternoon light. Installed June 1; first noticed June 8. Photos: W2-wide and W2-close. Product and installation records attached.”

This is an editorial recordkeeping aid, not a diagnosis, curing timetable or rework instruction. Keep customer information in your own records; nothing is entered or uploaded here.

Give every product its own document trail

LLumar’s product-download library is one manufacturer example. It provides technical specifications, care information, performance data and other reference documents. It is included to illustrate a document hub, not to rank or recommend a brand.

Keep the official link, product identity, intended application, relevant region and revision date where shown. Separate technical data from care information, warranty terms and general educational material; those documents answer different questions.

If a file does not clearly match the proposed product or application, record the mismatch and ask its issuer. A similarly named document is not a confirmed substitute. Use the technical-sheet reading guide to keep the evidence traceable.

Connect the file to a business plan

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s planning hub covers market research, business plans and startup costs, including traditional and lean plan formats. It is a general U.S. business resource, not window-film training.

Write down whom you intend to serve, which services you plan to offer, how customers will find you, and the resources those services need. Connect each assumption to a next step: a supplier to verify, a training question, a cost to investigate or an operating decision.

This first reference does not establish local licensing, tax, insurance or other requirements. Use the appropriate official or qualified adviser for those questions. It also does not supply revenue forecasts or promises about business performance.

Keep the next action visible

For each open job or callback, keep one next action, the person responsible and a follow-up date. Use these checklists in your existing records or browser-print the page. WindowFilm.org does not store job files.
